On the Move

The decision was made this week (July 24th), that in August, Tim and I will be leaving the evangelism and youth director work in Ohio and West Viriginia to go back into pastoring. We have loved being a part of Ohio and West Virginia, being involved with the youth, and visiting and ministering to our churches. We would not leave it, if we did not feel that it was part of God's plan. We will be pastoring at Lawrence Chapel Church of God of Prophecy in Crossville, Tennessee. We know that the Lord has exciting things in store, and we feel blessed to be a part.

To those we have served in Ohio & West Virginia:
We are sad to leave you, but we must be obedient to the Lord. We love you all very much, and we have greatly enjoyed spending time with you, knowing you better, and building relationships. We still love you, and although we will no longer physically be living side by side, we will still be laboring together for the glory of Christ.

To those we will be serving in Crossville, Tennessee:
Following the Lord is always wonderful and rewarding, and we are looking forward to being a part of your church. The Lord has a special way of putting excitement in our hearts for His people and for His plan. We will be with you soon, and we are looking forward to getting to know you all and serving Christ together.

    Dear Tim and Kim: You are going to be greatly missed in Ohio/W.VA. You have been a great blessing and have touched many hearts. The quality of your ministry is first rate.
    However, when the Lord gives clear direction, God's ministers have to follow. I pray God's best for you.

Listen, Obey, and Be So Glad You Did!

Several times on the road, while texting or checking a map or viewing an email, I have noticed how gradually irresponsible I have become about using my phone while driving. It's also frightening how invincible I feel while doing it. I have known that I needed to be more careful, but I just pushed away the idea that I could be in an accident and kill my own children or someone else or myself. That wasn't very likely to happen, right? So, I continued being, well,  stupid. About two weeks ago, out of the clear blue I suddenly felt like the Lord was speaking to me. Plain as day and as unexpected as snow in July, I had the thought, "Don't be busy on your phone while you're driving." I knew it was the Holy Spirit. Don't worry. Encouragement

Encouragement. We love to get it. But how are we about giving it? We often wait for a holiday or a crisis or even death before we bring encouragement and thoughtfulness to others' lives. We also overlook the people who seem to be "doing good" and assume that they don't need encouragement. This week, let's throw those mentalities out the window and focus on being an encouragement right now to people who won't be expecting it. I would like to challenge you to take a few minutes each day for one week to encourage people in your life.
