Change Is a Choice

Image
This morning, people from our church gathered together in the church's front lawn bringing with them wonderful autumn decorations and lots of creativity and brawn to make the outside of the church look gorgeous for the autumn season. They certainly succeeded. Each Autumn, they strive to change their autumn decoration from the masterpiece created the year before, and make it even better. I have been striving to change, too. Last year's walk with the Lord was wonderful, but this season, I want it to be even better. For a while, I have been wholesomely thinking and praying, "I want to be more dedicated and sensitive to the Lord." However, I never made my desire for that change move from my mouth to my mind and hands. Finally, a couple months ago, I came to grips with the fact that the change I was wanting was not going to just fall in my lap or knock me upside the head, because change is a choice. So, I mustered up some enthusiasm, made a plan, and most importantly, disc...

Nothing is Impossible

"Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases." -Psalm 103:2,3 I am very happy to say this verse has been manifested at our church - We have seen salvation and healing that only God can do. There is nothing like the hand of God moving in incredible ways to do what is impossible for us. God has been challenging me recently to pray more BOLDLY...to EXPECT God to great things...IMPOSSIBLE things. My God is not weak, and He is not unwilling. He is the one and only King of Kings, Creator of the Universe, Savior of my soul, and NOTHING is too difficult for Him!

Achieve It

Last month, my husband made an eagle in golf...He was ecstatic! He danced around throwing clubs in the air, because he was so excited. He achieved something he had never before achieved. In his words, it was the biggest rush he has felt since he hit a homerun in college. When was the last time you achieved something in your spiritual life that you have never before achieved? When was the last time you sought God so fervently that He touched you in an amazing and life-changing way? God doesn't want us to be satisfied with making par, and we shouldn't be either. God has given us the gifts and tools we need to live an abundant, growing, amazing life that impacts others and glorifies Him. If Tim went out to the golf course with a stick and an acorn instead of a club and a golf ball, he would NOT do well on the score card, and I would not be expecting him home before dinner. But if he takes the right clubs and balls and does his best with them, he may come home dancing about a new h...

Because of God's Goodness

What an exciting and busy month this has been! We moved to Crossville, Tennessee, began pastoring the wonderful people, and attended our church's International Assembly in Nashville, Tennessee. Our house is already starting to feel like home as we have finished unpacking and are getting ourselves into a routine. As I discover the hearts of those at our church, and as Tim and I bury ourselves in God's powerful hand, I am convinced that God is going to do a great work. And I am more excited than ever about serving the Lord and growing in Him. Thank you to everyone who has been praying with and for us regarding this time in our lives. God has been faithful as always, and my heart is overflowing with joy because of His goodness. As Hannah prayed and said in 1 Samuel, chapter 2, "My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; t...
